I hope that you enjoy your visit to our website. It has been designed to give you all the information you need as a parent or prospective parent, as well as give you a good feel for what life is like at Holmesdale Community Infant School.
Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make and it is therefore important that you find out as much about the school as you can before making your choice. We welcome visitors to the school, so you can see us at work.
Holmesdale Infant School is a successful and popular school where everyone works hard to ensure that the children are safe, secure and part of a friendly and caring community. We want the children to be happy and excited about coming to school to learn and to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding across a wide curriculum. We aim to challenge and inspire every child.
We are a founder member of the Greensand Multi Academy trust, a group of local schools who are committed to challenging, supporting and collaborating with each other to enrich the lives of our children.
We are also part of SESTA (South East Teaching Schools Alliance). This means that we work with 5 other local Outstanding schools and colleges to provide support and professional development for schools in the local area.
Our website provides information about the school, its aims, curriculum and procedures. Having confidence in a school comes from knowing and understanding what is happening within it. If you join our community, I hope that you will extend your knowledge through contact with me, members of my staff and governors and take advantage of the occasions to meet staff informally and formally as well as enjoying the wide range of social events organised by our very active Parent Staff Association (PSA). Parental involvement is really welcomed at our school. It is important that mutual understanding and trust should be the basis of our shared responsibility for the care and education of your child. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and visitors to share this commitment.
I am very proud of our school and our success in providing a high quality learning environment for children so they can thrive as individuals both academically and socially. We recognise that children need to be happy if they are to be effective learners and at Holmesdale we strive to provide an enabling environment where all children can flourish.
