Information for Year One
PE Days
Please send your child to school in their PE kit on the following days:
Otters: Tuesday and Thursday
Hedgehogs: Tuesday and Thursday
Owls: Tuesday and Wednesday
Dragonflies: Monday and Wednesday
Woodland Visits
We love to take our learning outside where possible and, in most weeks, will visit the woodland area. Please bring in an old pair of trainers (if weather dry) or wellington boots to school for these visits. Please ensure they are named. They can remain at school, if preferred, in a named bag on their peg.
The classes will visit the woodland on the following days:
Otters - Wednesday
Hedgehogs - Monday
Owls - Monday
Dragonflies - Friday
Reading Books
Children will have been sent home with their first 2 reading books of the year. Please could you read with your child every day and record this in their reading record diary.
Books are to be back in school every Wednesday so new books can be issued to go home on Thursday.
We look forward to hearing all about their fantastic reading.
Library Books
All year 1 classes will have a library session every week and will choose a book to take home. Please return the book the following week so that your child can choose a new book. Thank you.
